Gulf Island Cycling Tour

Lucas and I, being our ambitious selves, took off for a cycling holiday this past long weekend. We covered two of the amazing Gulf Islands, Salt Spring Island and Mayne Island. Salt Spring never disappoints with its ecclectic atmosphere. There are artists and musicians everywhere! Mayne is very very quiet and so relaxing. By the time we left we felt like one of the locals. We didn't even lock our bikes when we went for dinner! A big accomplishment for two city riders! In total, we covered 94km over our 6 day holiday. Not too shabby if you ask me!

Mum was there to help see us off. Manouevering around the Ferries was not easy with that trailer but Lucas did a great job!

The food on Salt Spring is amazing!

I had to take pictures of our brand new fancy tent while Lucas built our fire.

We loved that Salt Spring has a Bike Doctor listed on their city map!

Hitting the road! Where else to go but Salt Spring's very own winery

The Winery!

This night had to be one of my favourites. We took back a bottle of wine and Salt Spring Island Goat cheese for dinner. It was amazing!

Every Saturday Salt Spring holds a Farmer's Market. We found our treasure in fresh home grown garlic! mmmmmmmm

On our way to Mayne Island

The road down to our campsite was beautiful and better yet...no cars! The view from our campsite was even better!

The beaches on Main were beautiful! Too bad the water was so cold!

On our last full day in Mayne we circled the Island. We were a tad disappointed when it only took us 90 minutes! So we hit the local restaurant for a pitcher :)

All the scenic pictures here were views from our campsite! Amazing! We just unzipped our tent and the water was right there.

Our last night in Mayne!
